Wood Betony (Stachys officinalis)

Grown on my Vermont farm.

Wood Betony is a plant for when stress climbs upward.

When the jaw tightens.

When the temples throb.

When the shoulders stay braced.

When the mind won’t turn off.

Traditionally used for centuries as a nervous system herb, Wood Betony supports tension that lives in the head and upper body. It doesn’t sedate. It doesn’t dull you. It helps you come back down into yourself.

This is a grounding plant.

A settling plant.

A “bring the energy back to center” plant.

When thoughts scatter and the body holds the strain, Wood Betony helps release the tension.
